My Favorite Restaurant

Out of all of the restaurants I have been to in the United States, I would say my favorite restaurant is Jardines in San Juan, California. The food is absolutely delightful and the ambiance is very tranquil. My favorite thing about this restaurant is not the food, but the outdoor seating. There are multiple tables located outdoors, and during the beginning of the pandemic, my family chose this restaurant because outdoor seating was required and indoor seating was prohibited. From that point on, this became our go-to spot. Another reason why I love this beautiful and peaceful restaurant is that I can bring my German Shepherd and he can enjoy being with his family. The food is also very delicious, and the menu has a variety of plates. The menu includes all types of Mexican food, but you can order a plate of enchiladas with rice and beans or an a la carte taco of your choice. At Jardines, there is also a woman that sells beautiful hand embroidered masks. I actually bought a lovely emerald green mask with roses on it. The entire experience is wonderful, and the restaurant is very family oriented. After eating at Jardines in San Juan, my family likes to grab a small ice cream cone from down the street and we walk to the Mission of San Juan. The entire experience is very nice, and when we go, we always spot a familiar face because we only live about 20 minutes away from San Juan

  1. Hi Bianca. Jardines reminds me a lot of my favorite restaurant back in Seattle, Bongo's. It became my go-to spot post-pandemic as well. It's a small Caribbean restaurant with outdoor seating that has a roof over the top, with all the chairs and tables being on top of a sand floor that gives the place a beachy vibe. The walls and fences are also very colorful and set a nice tone, and the atmosphere is amazing.

  2. Hey Bianca. Thank you for sharing your experience at Jardin's. It's sounds like an awesome place with delicious food. Restaurants that are dog friendly are also much much better :).

  4. Hi Bianca! I love to see that your favorite restaurant is dog friendly!! I have a black lab that loves to join our family in all of our little adventures, so having restaurants that allow dogs to be with their family during dinner is AMAZING! Jardines seems like such a wonderful place to eat incredible Mexican food (which is truly a struggle for me to find in my hometown) and also enjoy a soothing dinner with your family!
